Privacy Policy
This SSR view mirrors the in-app Privacy Policy verbatim for AI assistants and search crawlers. The in-app version at the live URL renders the same text with site styling.
1. Information We Collect
Account information (name, email, mailing address, phone number when you register), profile information (bio, influences, instruments, skills, genres, DAWs, profile photo, external music links), content (audio files, stems, mixes you upload), usage data (how you interact with the service), and audit logs (records of file downloads and access for copyright protection).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the service; create and manage your account; facilitate collaborations between music creators; communicate with you about the service including security alerts and support messages; contact you regarding copyright, intellectual property, or terms of service concerns; comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service; protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
3. Information Sharing
musiciansXchange does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share information only in these circumstances: (a) with collaborators you have explicitly invited or accepted into a workspace; (b) with service providers who help us operate the platform (cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing, content delivery) under contractual confidentiality obligations; (c) when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of musiciansXchange and its users; (d) in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.
4. Audit Logging
musiciansXchange maintains audit logs of file downloads for copyright protection purposes. Every download of every audio file is recorded with the timestamp, user identity, IP address, and user-agent. These logs are append-only and retained for the lifetime of the account. We collect mailing addresses and phone numbers so that we can contact users in connection with copyright or intellectual property concerns; this contact information is not used for marketing.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use HttpOnly, Secure cookies for session management (access token + refresh token). We do not use third-party advertising trackers. We use Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection on signup and login forms; Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to that interaction.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
You can request deletion of your account at any time from the Account Settings page. Account deletion follows a 30-day cancellation window during which the action can be reversed; after that window, personal data is permanently removed. Audit logs and pseudonymized records may be retained for legal and copyright compliance purposes after account deletion.
7. Your Rights
You can access, correct, or delete your personal information from your Account Settings. You can export your data (profile, tracks, comments, collaborations) at any time. You can revoke active sessions on individual devices from the Security Settings page. Contact us in-platform for any requests we cannot fulfill via self-service controls.
8. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest for stored audio and database content, role-based access controls, two-factor authentication for accounts that opt in, and regular security audits. No system is perfectly secure; we encourage you to use strong unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication.
9. Children's Privacy
musiciansXchange is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active users via in-platform notification. The current version is always available at this URL.
